Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Orange Juice
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Rice Vinegar or White Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons of Soy Sauce use Tamari as an alternative that is a gluten-free feature
  • 1/4 teaspoon of Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or 2 cloves of garlic minced finely
  • The Orange Zest from one orange
  • Red Chili Flakes optional for heat
  • 1/3 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup Water

  • Instructions:
  • Make a mixture of the orange juice, sugar vinegar, soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger, and red chili flakes in a small pan.
  • Over medium-high heat, cook until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture begins to simmer.
  • In a separate bowl, mix a slurry, mixing the cornstarch and water until the mixture is it is smooth.
  • Gradually mix the cornstarch mixture into the simmering sauce, stirring it to make it thicker.
  • When the sauce has gotten thick enough to your taste, remove from the heat and mix in the zest of an orange.
